Amber is known as an "organic gemstone" as it is actually fossilized tree sap. It is actually very light in weight and can vary in color from a dark brown to a milky or clear yellow (depending on how old the amber is).

Amber is believed to be a protective gemstone that has purifying properties that is said to relieve pain. Many Baltic mothers, especially in Poland, let their babies teeth on amber. Often associated with the Solar Plexus and Sacral Chakras, it is believed to open and aid in the healing of those Chakras.
